John Garruto

President, Free Radical Technology, Inc.

UNITED STATES - John Garruto is the founder and president of Free Radical Technology, a technical consulting firm in Oceanside, Calif. Mr. Garruto has worked as a formulating chemist and technical consultant to the personal care industry for 30 years.

His firm specializes in the formulation of more than 1,000 nationally marketed personal care products, including color cosmetics, skin care, hair care, OTC products, spa and treatment formulations. In addition, he has designed, built and managed various cosmetic manufacturing and research facilities nationwide.

Mr. Garruto is a featured lecturer to the Society of Cosmetic Chemists, Health & Beauty America (HBA), Beauty Industry West, Cosmetics & Spa Conference and other professional and private organizations.  He is a frequent consultant to many beauty publications as well as news organizations such as FOX Communications and CBS.  In addition, he is a published author with articles appearing in many technical publications such as Cosmetic & Toiletries, Cosmetic Surgery Times and Happi.

He holds multiple patents in the area of personal care and related science. He is past chairman of the California Chapter of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists and received the Chapter Merit Award in 2002.
