Paul McCreery has grown in international stature at the Liebherr Tennis 2010 World Championships in Moscow
IRELAND - Paul McCreery first picked up a table tennis bat at the age of 8 after watching his dad who used to play in a local league. He’s never looked back. Now the 18 year old from Crossgar, Northern Ireland, is competing at a world level, with ambitions to represent the UK in the Olympics in 2 years in London and again in 2016.
Having just returned from competing in the 2010 World Championships in Moscow where he won the majority of his matches, Paul can now concentrate on his sport now that he has finished secondary education. He even had to arrange with his own school to sit two of his A-levels in a Moscow school. Next year, Paul plans to move to France to join the Montpellier Table Tennis Club where he will have a full time coach, compete against top players from all over the world and train in a world class facility.
Beyond that, Paul sees the winning medals at the Commonwealth Games in India in October as a big goal and the Olympics as something to focus on after that.
Paul follows a strict healthy diet that is low in sugar and mainly vegetarian. He also drinks Tahitian Noni™ Original.
He says, "I enjoy drinking Tahitian Noni™ Original regularly as part of a healthy lifestyle as I feel it gives me an 'extra edge' during table tennis matches and training. Since drinking Tahitian Noni™ Original daily I have more energy. I love drinking Tahitian Noni™ Original during a tournament and the days leading up as I find it keeps my energy up during matches. I travel most weekends with table tennis which involves a lot of flying and I feel that Tahitian Noni™ Original positively influences my natural defences. I follow a healthy diet which is lactose and sugar-free, mostly vegetarian and I avoid caffeine and alcohol. However, sometimes when I am travelling it is difficult to get access to healthy foods but I know Tahitian Noni™ Original is giving me sustained nutrition and so it is a very important part of my training programme! I will continue to drink Tahitian Noni™ Original in the future as I feel it really helps me to achieve my table tennis goals."
Paul’s accomplishments include:
- Junior 6 Nations Champion
- UK School Games Singles - Gold
- Ranked no. 1 Junior in Ireland
- Ranked no. 1 Senior in Ireland
- Representing Ireland in European Championships & World Championships
- Reached the quarter finals of the Spanish Youth Open
